Edgerrin Tyree James (; born August 1, ) is an American former professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons.

He played college football at the University of Miami for the Miami Hurricanes. He was selected by the Indianapolis Colts fourth overall in the NFL draft. James also played for the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks.
He was named AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in and earned four Pro Bowl selections and four All-Pro selections.
James is the Colts' all-time leader in career rushing yards, attempts, and touchd
