Volvo Car Corporation has appointed two new members of the Executive Management Team; Axel J Maschka is the new Senior Vice President Purchasing and Maria Hemberg is the new General Counsel.

Axel Maschka, 45, holds a degree in engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, and was most recently the President and CEO of the engine systems entity within supplier Continental AG.

Prior to that he has been in leading positions with Bosch during , based in Germany, France and India.
Axel Maschka will take up the position as Senior Vice President Purchasing starting January 1st, He succeeds Bernt Ejbyfeldt who has left the company.
